WAUWATOSA, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's tennis team wrapped up its 2016 fall season this morning by defeating Lakeland 7-2 in its final NACC match at Hart Park.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Warriors won the first doubles match when Paige Potaracke (La Crosse, Wis./Luther) and Emily Boyd (Lebanon, Wis./Luther Preparatory) defeated Lakeland's Emma Schad and Mikayla Hilton by a score of 8-4.
  • At No. 2 doubles, it was Tabitha Schultz (Coeur d'Alene, Idaho/Luther Preparatory) and Reebee Ratkowski (Waterford, Wis./Waterford) winning 8-5 over the Muskies' Ann Schroeder and Tyner Strawn.
  • In the final doubles match of the day, it was Kendra Bergmann (Slinger, Wis./Slinger) and her sister Taylor Bergmann (Slinger, Wis./Slinger) defeating Carly Brault and Rachel Conery 8-4.
  • At No.1 singles, it was Potaracke defeating Schad in straight sets 6-1, 6-2.
  • WLC's Schultz defeated Lakeland's Schroeder in straight sets 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2 singles to put the Warriors up 5-0.
  • The Warriors would also win No. 3 singles where Boyd defeated Lakeland's Strawn 6-0, 6-0.
  • Hannah Gerbing (Pewaukee, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) defeated Conery 6-0, 6-0 to finish singles play and send her season record to 7-6.
  • Boyd finished the fall season with eight wins at No. 3 singles, leading the team in singles wins.
  • The Warriors won their third straight over the Muskies and improved to 10-1 against LU since 2006.
