ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's track & field team closed out its 2014 season Friday at the Augustana Midwest Twilight Qualifier by achieving seven season-best marks. There were no team scores recorded at the last chance meet.
Andrew Guenther (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc) and Colin Sheahan (Oostburg, Wis./Oostburg) both sprinted to season bests in the 100-meter dash as they finished in 11.44 and 12.22 seconds, respectively. Guenther also recorded a season-best time in the 200-meter dash, finishing in 23.81 seconds. Sheahan completed the same event in 25.16 seconds.
Four Warriors competed in the 800 meters with three recording personal-best times. Nick Biancuzzo (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Milwaukee Lutheran) placed second overall with a time of 1:55.54. Jacob Jodat (Pewaukee, Wis./Waukesha North) was 12th with a time of 2:02.01. Tommy Jones (Delavan, Wis./Delavan-Darien), 2:06.05, and Kyle McBee (Monroe, Mich./Lutheran South), 2:15.10, finished 21st and 25th, respectively.
In the 1,500 meters, Sam Wallace (Appleton, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran) placed seventh with a personal-best time of 4:18.55.
Wisconsin Lutheran had a pair of relay teams entered in the 4x400 as they crossed the finish line in seventh and eighth place, respectively, with times of 3:40.82 and 3:46.96.
WLC wraps up its season with three schools records set in the 400-meter hurdles (56.15), sprint medley relay (1:42.80), and 4x400-meter relay (3:30.27).
